OLT CELEBRATES 2ND ALUMNI NIGHT

by: Niño Reno Yap

The program ended earlier than expected, which gave everybody a chance to catch up and get updated with each other. In the concluding part of the program, flashes surrounded the OLT quadrangle as the facilitators, and alumni gathered together for the picture taking. The OLT facilitators, committee members, and all the other people behind this endeavor were more than satisfied for having a successful event. Most importantly, the activity revealed the overwhelming generosity of the alumni from different batches, for they not only shared their time and talent, but they also contributed financially.

The next juncture opened the floor for the election of the alumni nominated by each batch. In the end, Thirdy O. Lapitan and Ms. Celeste Torino won as president and vice-president respectively.  These elected alumni are expected to lead and to plan the next alumni homecoming. Various games and surprises entertained the alumni whom they had joyfully enjoyed. Sumptuous meals for dinners were served through the effort of committee members. The highlight of the gathering was the paint party wherein the alumni dance, jump and beat to the cool and electro music of DJ John of Cagayan de Oro City.

With paint party as the theme, the program started at 6:00 PM with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Full of enthusiasm and happiness, Mr. Medel Jun Y. Unido, Alumni Coordinator, delivered the welcome message in behalf of the School President, Madam Lucile A. Maglasang. He also acknowledged more than 100 alumni from different batches with a photo opt.

It was a day of reminiscing happy memories and making a difference as the Office of the Alumni Coordinator spearheaded the 2nd Alumni Homecoming of Our Lady of Triumph Institute of Technology last September 13, 2017. The event was part of the weeklong celebration of the 7th Foundation Anniversary and Intramurals Week 2017 with the theme “Developing Students’ Professional Competencies and Desirable Personal Traits through Games and Fun-filled Activities” held at the OLT quadrangle.
